THE JOSHUA TREE HOUSE | ARIZONA, USA

As mentioned in my On Dry Lands post, 2019 was a very transformative year for me. Within the evolution of my desert-inspired body of work, many important things unfolded. One of the most important and most nourishing experiences was my time spent at the Posada.

The Posada is a beautiful inn in the heart of the Saguaro Desert of Arizona. Owned by Sara & Rich Combs from The Joshua Tree House, this abode was in perfect alignment with what inspires me as an artist.

Further in alignment was the universe and how our paths crossed - by connecting with them, I got to meet the wonderful human beings that they are (truly an inspiring couple which I am so grateful to now call my friends).

While the Posada was in the middle of its construction and renovation, I got to work on a collection of custom mural pieces & artworks for the space.

MY TIME IN THIS PLACE WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. FINDING MYSELF IN THE HEART OF THE DESERT, SURROUNDED BY SO MANY DESERT PLANTS, SO MUCH DENSITY AND MAGIC - MADE IT A FULLY IMMERSIVE PROCESS WHERE I TOOK INSPIRATION DIRECTLY FROM WHAT I LIVED.

I stayed there for a little less than a week and every day, I would work on a new mural piece.

Have a look at the short film – It captures the process and mood that this special experience brought. I am eternally grateful to have lived it and I cannot wait to come back to this place.
